A diner in front of a strange station

More and more travel TV programs are on the air here in Japan. People cannot afford to travel abroad and like to stay home safely and watch the TV instead. Yes, Japanese becomes more in warded ever.

I categorize the travel TV programs into three types. The first one is 'First person's view camera with monologue narration' type. The second one is put a camera just behind a presenter and makes traveling alone feel. The third one is a video of group travel by TV personalities.

The travel with FPV view camera was so impressive for me at first, but I get accustomed to that. Then I felt like the camera view and the narration were separated, different person's view. The group travel by celebrities is certainly fun to watch. But it is just taking their inner circle to abroad. Isn't a travel presentation anymore. So after all, which I like is the second type, travel presentation with setting the camera just behind the presenter.

Now I get to today's subject. I have had a favorite travel TV program in the second category, well ... for half a year. The title is "The labyrinth of gourmet, A diner in front of a strange station" which is presented by Japanese comedian Hiroshi.
The contents is, as the title described, Hiroshi gets off at a local station in some country and picks up a diner or restaurant for trying local plates. It's a travel & gourmet program. But the process that he gets to a diner is also interesting part to me. Exploring strange town, communicating with local people ... all those relaxed, travel alone atmosphere must be the key of the TV show.

I think the comedian has the own style for travelling alone. He isn't good at foreign language, nevertheless he so so communicate with the people. As a professional comedian, he knows how to present himself to the first met people as well as how to present it to the viewers. Meanwhile, I feel naiveness in him. I remember the punch line of his comedy is self-deprecating joke.
He also has good eyes to notice small things, although he often misread it. So do I. The good point of the TV program is that the host's misreading is corrected with superimposition. Meanwhile, my misreading is just leave here without correction forever.
The program introduces two towns in each episode, normally Asia and Europe. Hiroshi is always good with the people in same attitude. That's another pros of the TV show.

Maybe it makes Japanese people's mind who become so inward change to the outward. The only cons of this TV program is the extremely long title. 'A diner in front of a strange station' must be enough.
I hope the program keep on the slow air and runs longer. I make it future reference to my travel.  One day, your local diner can be introduced by Hiroshi.
